Charlie Parker’s Dancing Notes

People say you can’t dance to jazz and classical (obviously excepting ballet), that the time signatures won’t allow it. I say that those people doubt the versatility of dance.

At the same time, the varying and evolving rhythms of an instrumental composition are where the true dancing resides. Just look at how the notes move. No monotonous beats here. Although it’s been years since I could fluently read scores, the calligraphy of it always calms me. I could meditate watching this, dragged into Bird’s line.
